It's not like Webster, Barrett and Rutan are writing these songs, we're basically getting his interpretation of death metal so it was never going to be mind blowing by any means. |

Did listened to it briefly, but I don't want to listen to it too much so as to prevent any spoilers early on until the album officially dropped. My mistake, I read the question as who was oldest (as in first) death metal band. |

That means he was 31 when Nile released their first demo and 35 when they released their debut album. That's got to be some kind of record in itself. |

That said, he may have been the oldest while he was alive, but right now we have at least a handful of people active in death metal bands that are older than him at his time. |

And as for what I think, this kinda sucks. I've heard worse death metal but it's very Hatebreed-like, which I don't like. I hope this is just for Corpsegrinder's solo stuff, and doesn't leak into CC. He, Chief Spires and Pete Hammoura had a thrash metal band prior to Nile, though, and it was founded on 1983, so he was playing for quite some time before founding his current band. |

Since Fisher is basically writting zero Cannibal Corpse material and zero Corpsegrinder material, I wouldn't be too concerned about this. |
