Fun Facts About Kangaroos

I prefer telling kids a few easy-to-remember fun facts while making the craft. It keeps the children engaged.

I've collected some cute kangaroo facts for you to share with the little ones:

  • Kangaroos are the most popular Australia animals
  • Baby kangaroos are called joeys and live in mother kangaroo pouches.
  • Joeys are the size of a jellybean.
  • Some kangaroos can climb trees as well.
  • Kangaroos can cover 25 feet of distance with just one jump. You'll have to take at least 10-15 steps to cover that much.

Ways to Use the Kangaroo Paper Craft

Once the cutesy kangaroo crafts are ready, display them on your classroom bulletin board. Seeing their work on display will boost children's self-confidence and encourage them to make other crafts.

Here are some more fun ways to use these kangaroo paper crafts:

  • Make kangaroo puppets with paper bags.
  • Make a scene by pasting the kangaroos on paper plates with other elements like trees, birds, and the sun. If you're doing this craft with older kids, you can also ask them to make other zoo animals.
  • Make different-sized kangaroos and teach children the concept of big and small.
  • Faintly write kids' names on their kangaroos and ask them to trace them. You can later send them home so the parents can laminate them and use them as keychain holders or bookmarks.

  • Stick googly eyes on the longer stick of the letter k.
  • Make a baby kangaroo and stick him in the pouch of the mama kangaroo.
  • Use pipe cleaners to add kangaroo tails.
  • Add prints and patterns using a black marker.
